Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Calipatria). They blew past the Holtville Vikings 54-34 on Thursday. This was a revenge game for the Hornets: when they faced off against the Vikings two weeks ago, they had to take a 42-27 loss.

Several Vikings players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Macy Singh, who posted 11 points and seven boards. Another player making a difference was Melany Estrada, who dropped a double-double with 11 points and 11 rebounds.

The win made it two in a row for Calipatria and bumps their season record up to 8-10. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 3-18 Southwest EC and 6-14 Holtville. As for Holtville, they have been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last 11 contests, which has put a noticeable dent in their 6-14 record this season.

Calipatria has already played their next game, a 67-17 defeat against Brawley on the 4th. As for Holtville, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 37-25 victory against Southwest EC on the 4th.
