Harrisburg had lost three straight, but after bumping their record up to 2-3 on Friday that streak is in the rearview. They came out on top against the Massac County Patriots by a score of 28-21. The Bulldogs have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Patriots, too.

As for Massac County, they now have a losing record of 2-3. They gained 96 more yards on the day, but it was Harrisburg that made the best use of them.

When it comes to explaining why Massac County lost, don't look at Dee Carruthers. Despite the final result, he rushed for 80 yards and a pair of scores, and also picked up 69 receiving yards and one TD. Carruthers showed off some serious burst, lighting up the secondary with a catch for 66 yards.

Coming up, Harrisburg will head out on the road to face off against Carterville at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Bulldogs will need to watch out since the Lions have now posted at least 31 points in their last three matchups. As for Massac County, they will square off against Herrin at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Patriots will be up against the Tigers' rather soft defense (which has allowed 48.8 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
