Football Game Preview: Capitan Tigers vs. Legacy Academy Silverbacks + Official Tickets

The Capitan Tigers are taking a road trip to face off against the Legacy Academy Silverbacks at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Capitan hasn't scored more than six points for five games straight, a trend the team is eager to reverse.

It was a proper cat-fight when Capitan challenged Santa Rosa on Friday. The Tigers were dealt a 50-0 loss at the hands of the Lions. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New Mexico football rankings (they are ranked 85th, while the Lions are ranked 22nd).

Meanwhile, Legacy Academy came tearing into Friday's game with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 16 points), and they left with even more momentum. They walked away with a 21-14 win over the Tigers.

The critical scores for Legacy Academy came from Christian Perez, Adrian Lopez, and Xander Chavez.

Legacy Academy's victory bumped their record up to 5-1. As for Capitan, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-5.

Capitan took a serious blow against Legacy Academy in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, falling 54-0. Thankfully for the Tigers, Adam Chavez (who picked up 132 receiving yards and two touchdowns) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
