Baseball Recap: Morrow Comes Up Short

Morrow was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They lost 16-1 to the Newnan Cougars. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Cougars this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 15-0 on Wednesday.

Morrow's loss dropped their record down to 1-16. As for Newnan, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 13 of their last 14 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-6 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Morrow will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Langston Hughes at 6:00 p.m. on the 14th. The Panthers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 12.23 runs per game on average), something the Mustangs will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Newnan, they will host Stony Brook at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Cougars 4.1, the Bears 2) so any runs scored will be well earned.
