Softball Recap: Heritage Takes a Loss

Heritage was the 20-3 winner over Palisade when they last played one another back in September of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Eagles took a 7-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bulldogs on Friday. The Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Caitlin Chamaty made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Macie Wilson, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one run and one double.

Heritage's defeat dropped their record down to 4-11. As for Palisade, they pushed their record up to 10-5 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home.

Heritage is on the road again on Saturday to play Grand Junction at 10:00 a.m. The Tigers' pitching crew has only allowed 3.8 runs per game this season, so the Eagles' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Palisade, they will square off against Castle View at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Bulldogs' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Sabercats have averaged an impressive 7.7 runs per game this season.
