After a string of eight wins, Prairie City-Monroe's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They took a 4-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Gilbert Tigers. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Mustangs of the 8-1 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in July of 2024.

Prairie City-Monroe's loss dropped their record down to 14-2. As for Gilbert, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-7 record this season.
