Baseball Recap: Hebron Christian Takes a Loss

Hebron Christian suffered their biggest loss since March 13th on Friday. They came up short against the Habersham Central Raiders, falling 17-6. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Lions of the 10-7 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in February of 2024.

Thomas Stallworth was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. Destin Matthews was another key player, scoring a run while going 1-for-2.

Hebron Christian is on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 14-12. As for Habersham Central, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine games. That's provided a massive bump to their 15-11 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hebron Christian will square off against Franklin County at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Habersham Central, they will face off against Alcovy at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The timing is sure in the Raiders' favor as the team sits on five straight wins at home while the Tigers have been banged up by 15 consecutive losses on the road.
