Softball Recap: Grovetown Wins Going Away Against Heritage

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Grovetown). They were the clear victors by an 18-2 margin over the Heritage Patriots on Monday. The win continues a trend for the Warriors in their matchups with the Patriots: they've now won nine in a row.

Adalyn McCully was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. What's more, she posted two strikeouts, the most she's had since back in October of 2024. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one run.

Grovetown always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .920. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Grovetown's victory bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Heritage, their loss was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-5.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Grovetown will head out to challenge Archer at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Heritage, they will venture away from home to square off against Salem at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
