Basketball Recap: Interboro Takes a Loss

Interboro was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were a single point away from ending the streak, but they lost a 39-38 heartbreaker at the hands of the Penn Wood Patriots. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Patriots this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 58-39 back in January.

Autumn Dodds and Madilyn Mea certainly did their best on Thursday to avoid the loss. Dodds posted ten points, while Mea put up ten points and six rebounds. The dominant performance gave Dodds a new career-high in points.

Penn Wood's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Taylor Morris, who went 6-for-13 on her way to 15 points and five steals. Penn Wood is undefeated when Morris posts five or more steals, but 6-12 otherwise. Elisia Lawrence was another key player, putting up ten points in addition to six boards and three steals.

Interboro's loss dropped their record down to 2-20. As for Penn Wood, their record is now 10-12.

As of now, neither Interboro nor Penn Wood have any future games scheduled.
