Baseball Game Preview: Northside Patriots vs. Central Lions

The Northside Patriots are taking a road trip to take on the Central Lions at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Northside is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.8 runs per game this season.

Northside took a loss when they played away from home on Thursday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They were the clear victors by a 7-1 margin over Harris County. Considering the Patriots have won ten matches by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Reese Adams was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed seven innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in nine consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base and two RBI. Those two RBI gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Javion Windham, who scored three runs while going 2-for-4. Cayden Clay was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-4.

Meanwhile, Central was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They took a 4-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of South Paulding.

Central's defeat dropped their record down to 20-6. As for Northside, their record is now 19-7.
