St. Joseph took a 26-point defeat the last time they faced off against Freeport, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The St. Joseph Spartans had just enough and edged the Freeport Yellowjackets out 54-51. Winning may never get old, but the Spartans sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.

St. Joseph's win bumped their record up to 7-2. As for Freeport, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-6.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. St. Joseph will square off against Aquinas Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Freeport, they will head out on the road to square off against Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Freeport is facing Valley at the right time seeing as Valley is stuck on a five-game losing streak.
