Football Game Preview: Goessel Bluebirds vs. Solomon Gorillas

The Goessel Bluebirds will take on the Solomon Gorillas on Friday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with four consecutive losses for Goessel and three for Solomon.

Goessel's offense might be in the hot seat on Friday considering what happened against Central Plains on Saturday. They were outmatched by the Oilers and fell 60-0.

Meanwhile, Solomon also failed to score in their most recent game. They were beaten by Ell-Saline 50-0 on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Gorillas can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kansas football rankings (they are ranked 80th, while the Cardinals are ranked tenth).

Goessel's defeat dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Solomon, their loss dropped their record down to an identical 1-4.

Goessel was taken down by Solomon 58-8 in their previous matchup back in October of 2024. That contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Bluebirds were down 28-8.
