Baseball Recap: Prince Avenue Christian Gets the Win

While Prince Avenue Christian's win against Franklin County wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Prince Avenue Christian Wolverines won by a run and slipped past the Franklin County Lions 4-3. The Wolverines haven't had any issues with the Lions recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

Prince Avenue Christian got a great performance from Bryson Towler as he pitched 5.1 innings while giving up three earned runs off seven hits. Towler has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks any time he's pitched this season.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Kyler Giddens, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. That home run was his first of the season. Hudson Hill was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 3-for-4.

Prince Avenue Christian pushed their record up to 14-2 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.7 runs over those games. As for Franklin County, their defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 11-4.

Prince Avenue Christian will have a chance to go back-to-back against Franklin County: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:55 p.m. on Friday.
