Football Recap: Wood Takes a Loss + How To Watch

The matchup between Wood and Sacramento on Saturday hardly resembled the 20-6 effort from their previous meeting. The Wildcats took a blow against the Dragons, falling 48-18. The Wildcats gained 105 more yards on the day, but it was the Dragons that made the best use of them.

Despite the loss, Wood still got an impressive performance from Dj Seymour, who picked up 164 receiving yards and three scores. With that strong performance, Seymour is now averaging an impressive 106.8 receiving yards per game. Tanner McCottrell was another key player, throwing for 166 yards and three TDs on only 14 passes.

Cordell Radcliffe produced another solid performance rushing for 204 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 12.8 yards per carry for Sacramento. That's the most rushing touchdowns Radcliffe has posted since back in November of 2024. Damarie Taylor also helped with two scores in total.

This is the second loss in a row for Wood and nudges their season record down to 2-3. As for Sacramento, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-1.

Wood didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 21-10 defeat against River City on the 26th. As for Sacramento, they have also already played their next contest, a 42-40 loss against Pioneer on the 26th.
