Soccer Game Preview: Liberty vs. Clovis East

Liberty is on a ten-game streak of home wins, while Clovis East is on a three-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Liberty Patriots will host the Clovis East Timberwolves at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Liberty is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 2.9 goals per game this season.

Liberty is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Saturday. They never let Atascadero onto the board and left with a 4-0 victory. The result kept the Patriots happy, as they haven't lost a game since December 21, 2024.

Hayden Gehring and Taylor Bradshaw scored all four of Liberty's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 30 goals.

Meanwhile, Clovis East won against Buchanan last Tuesday with two goals and they decided to stick to that goal total again on Saturday. Clovis East came out on top in a nail-biter against Bullard, sneaking past 2-1. That's two games straight that the Timberwolves have won by just one goal.

Liberty has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 14 of their last 15 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 17-1 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up two goals over those 15 matchups. As for Clovis East, their win bumped their record up to 10-5.

Liberty took their victory against Clovis East in their previous meeting back in February of 2023 by a conclusive 3-0. Does Liberty have another victory up their sleeve, or will Clovis East turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
