Basketball Game Preview: Averroes Falcon vs. St. Vincent de Paul Mustangs

The Averroes Falcon are taking a road trip to face off against the St. Vincent de Paul Mustangs at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. Averroes will be strutting in after a win while St. Vincent de Paul will be coming in after a loss.

Averroes is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They took their match on Wednesday with ease, bagging a 49-21 victory over Apostles Lutheran. The Falcon pushed the score to 40-15 by the end of the third, a deficit the Falcons had little chance of recovering from.

Meanwhile, St. Vincent de Paul played a tough contest on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They came up short against Healdsburg, falling 47-26. While losing is never fun, the Mustangs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 584th, while the Greyhounds are ranked 265th).

The win made it two in a row for Averroes and bumps their season record up to 4-7. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 21.0 points over those games. As for St. Vincent de Paul, their defeat dropped their record down to 15-10.
