Softball Recap: Wayne County Comes Up Short

If Wayne County was feeling good fresh off their 10-3 takedown of Vidalia last Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Yellow Jackets fell just short of the Indians by a score of 2-1 on Monday. The Yellow Jackets were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Indians earlier this season, when they won 10-3.

Wayne County's defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 5-4. As for Vidalia, the victory got them back to even at 6-6.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Wayne County will head out to face off against Appling County at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Vidalia, they will venture away from home to challenge Savannah Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Raiders' pitching crew has only allowed four runs per game this season, so the Indians' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
