Gregory-Portland came tearing into Saturday's match with four straight wins , and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against Canyon Lake by a score of 2-0. That's more bragging rights for the Wildcats, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Among those leading the charge was Sophia Davila, who had ten digs and two aces. What's more, she posted four assists, the most she's had over her last 23 contests. Another player making a difference was Janae Castillo, who had six digs and three aces.

Gregory-Portland's win bumped their record up to 17-11. As for Canyon Lake, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 12-10 record this season.

Gregory-Portland wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 2-0 defeat against Seguin on the 30th. As for Canyon Lake, they will face off against Akins at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
