Basketball Game Preview: East Juniata Tigers vs. Upper Dauphin Area Trojans

The East Juniata Tigers will head out on the road to take on the Upper Dauphin Area Trojans at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. East Juniata is coming into the game on a five-game losing streak.

On Saturday, East Juniata came up short against Mount Union and fell 50-39.

Meanwhile, Upper Dauphin Area also suffered a loss in their last game, but this one to Greenwood by a score of 42-31.

East Juniata will need focus on slowing down Kasey Weibley, one of several Upper Dauphin Area players who made an impact when they last played. She posted six points and 15 boards. With that strong performance, Weibley is now averaging an impressive 8.1 rebounds per game. Kate Rothermel was another key player, putting up seven points and eight boards.

Even though they lost, Upper Dauphin Area smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in three consecutive contests.

East Juniata's loss dropped their record down to 4-8. As for Upper Dauphin Area, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-6 record this season.

East Juniata might still be hurting after the 52-26 defeat they got from Upper Dauphin Area in their previous meeting back in January of 2024. Thankfully for East Juniata, Gracie Griffiths (who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 11 rebounds) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
