Basketball Recap: Clovis North Comes Up Short

Clovis North was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. The game between them and the Central Grizzlies didn't end well, with the Clovis North Broncos falling 56-37. While losing is never fun, the Broncos can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 237th, while the Grizzlies are ranked 31st).

Leading Central to victory were Vivian Moore and Savana Chase. Moore went 5 of 8 en route to 12 points and seven steals, while Chase went 5 for 7 on her way to 10 points along with six assists and three steals. Those six assists gave Chase a new career-high. Chyna Roland was another key player, going 5 of 9 en route to 13 points.

Clovis North's loss dropped their record down to 8-13. As for Central, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 15-3 record this season.

Clovis North has already played their next contest (against Buchanan), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Central didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 73-11 victory against Justin Garza on the 18th.
