Recap: Shikellamy Braves vs. Central Mountain Wildcats

The Shikellamy Braves won the last time they faced the Central Mountain Wildcats, and things went their way on Saturday too. Shikellamy slipped by Central Mountain 51-50.

Shikellamy found their leader in underclassman Lily Fatool, who scored 27 points along with five steals. Fatool continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Blaire Balestrini, who scored 12 points along with two steals.

Central Mountain's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Taylor Doyle, who scored 17 points along with three steals. Doyle hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. Camdyn Weaver was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with seven assists and five rebounds.

Even though they lost, Central Mountain were working as a unit and finished the game with 16 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Shikellamy only racked up seven assists.

Shikellamy is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season. As for Central Mountain, they now have a losing record at 6-7.

Shikellamy will head out on the road to take on Lewisburg at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Central Mountain, they will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against Danville at 7:30 p.m.
