Football Recap: Salida Takes a Loss

Salida came into their game on Friday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They were dealt a 50-13 loss at the hands of the Alamosa Mean Moose. The Spartans haven't had much luck with the Mean Moose recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Despite the defeat, Salida had strong showings from Ayden Wells, who picked up 64 receiving yards and a pair of scores, and Matthew Edgington, who rushed for 44 yards.

Salida's loss dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Alamosa, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 6-2.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Salida will challenge rival Gunnison at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Alamosa is set to face off against their familiar foe Pagosa Springs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
