About seven miles away from where the Bills will host the Jaguars this evening on Monday Night Football, South Park (Buffalo, N.Y.) senior running back Adam Nunes had a prime time performance of his own Thursday in a 58-28 win over Iroquois (Elma), rushing for 593 yards and seven touchdowns.

The 593 yards were a state record and tied for 10th all-time nationally, according to the MaxPreps National High School Football Record Book. Nunes piled up 457 yards on touchdown runs alone. Defensively, he added six tackles and an interception.

On South Park's opening drive, Nunes took a toss and raced 80 yards down the sideline to the house. That ended up being his third-longest score of the day as he later added 81-yard and 93-yard touchdown runs.

Nunes' shortest touchdown run was 36 yards and he had five that were longer than 60 during the 100th career win for head coach Tim Delaney.

The seven touchdowns tie him for fourth-most in state history.

Nunes has 864 rushing yards and 12 touchdowns through three games along with 20 tackles and three interceptions defensively. His efforts have helped the Sparks start 3-0.

As a junior, Nunes nearly had 1,000 all-purpose yards with eight touchdowns. On defense he had 75 tackles and an interception.
