Baseball Game Preview: Cherokee Bluff Bears vs. East Hall Vikings

Cherokee Bluff is a perfect 10-0 against East Hall since March of 2020 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Cherokee Bluff Bears will look to defend their home field against the East Hall Vikings at 5:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Cherokee Bluff has four straight wins, East Hall has five straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

On Tuesday, Cherokee Bluff made easy work of East Hall and carried off a 7-1 victory. The Bears might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five matchups by six runs or more this season.

Gabe Gowder tossed a big game, striking out six batters over six innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. Cherokee Bluff is 5-1 when Gowder allowsone or fewer earned runs, but 3-7 otherwise.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Jordan Wilkerson, who went 2-for-4 with four RBI and two doubles. That's the most hits he has posted since back in February. Another player making a difference was Ethan England, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

The win got Cherokee Bluff back to even at 8-8. As for East Hall, their loss dropped their record down to 6-10.
