New Castle was the 16-14 winner over Delta when they last played one another back in September of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Trojans fell 27-20 to the Eagles on Friday. Perhaps the best among them was Alijah Turner, who picked up 116 receiving yards and three touchdowns. Turner also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, picking up 0.5 sacks and making three total tackles (1.0 for loss). Carson Bell was another key signal caller, throwing for 206 yards and three TDs.
Aven Thomas was his usual excellent self, rushing for 178 yards and four scores while picking up 10.5 yards per carry for Delta. Those 178 rushing yards gave Thomas a new career-high.
New Castle dropped their record down to 1-5 with the loss, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Delta, the win got them back to even at 3-3.
