Soccer Recap: Coffee Comes Up Short

Coffee lost against Lee County back in February, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Coffee took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of Lee County. That's two games in a row now that Coffee has lost by exactly two goals.

Their goal came courtesy of Oscar Vasquez, who's now up to four this season.

This is the second loss in a row for Coffee and nudges their season record down to 3-6. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 6-2 Houston County (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 81.3% over those games). As for Lee County, they pushed their record up to 7-1 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Coffee will face off against Northside at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Lee County, they will venture away from home to take on Houston County at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Houston County will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Lee County surely won't give up without a fight.
