Softball Recap: Battle Mountain Takes a Loss

Battle Mountain fell victim to Rifle and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They came up short against the Bears, falling 16-0. Having soared to a lofty 14 runs in the game before, the Huskies' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Battle Mountain dropped their record down to 2-1 with the loss, which was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Rifle, the win (which was their fourth in a row dating back to last season) raised their record to 3-0.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Battle Mountain will challenge Moffat County at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Rifle, they will face off against Grand Junction at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
