Softball Recap: Alva Has No Trouble Against Porter

Alva never got on the board in their matchup on Thursday, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Porter on Friday. They were the clear victors by a 26-3 margin over the Pirates. That 23 run margin sets a new team best for the Goldbugs this season.

Trinity Stevens made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she tossed 1.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up a single walk in five consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with three runs and one stolen base.

Alva was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .576. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Alva's win bumped their record up to 4-1-1. As for Porter, their loss dropped their record down to 2-2.

Alva didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 10-5 defeat against Harrah on the 15th. Porter has also already played their next contest (against Commerce), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
