Basketball Game Preview: Green Canyon Wolves vs. Tooele Buffaloes + How To Watch

For the first time this season, Green Canyon will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup. They will head out on the road to take on the Tooele Buffaloes at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Green Canyon knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past six matchups -- so hopefully Tooele likes a good challenge.

Green Canyon is headed into the contest after thoroughly thrashing Carbon: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Wolves blew the Dinos out of the water with a 74-30 final score. The Wolves pushed the score to 67-26 by the end of the third, a deficit the Dinos had no chance of recovering from.

Green Canyon's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Carter Etherington, who dropped a double-double with 18 points and 11 boards. The Wolves are undefeated when Etherington posts eight or more rebounds, but 1-3 otherwise. Gavin Erickson was another key player, going 6-for-10 en route to 19 points and five boards.

Green Canyon was working as a unit and finished the game with 17 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Carbon only racked up four.

Meanwhile, Tooele unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Tuesday. They came up short against Taylorsville, falling 77-52.

Green Canyon has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-3 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.5 points over those games. As for Tooele, their loss dropped their record down to 4-4.

Green Canyon took their win against Tooele in their previous matchup back in December of 2021 by a conclusive 69-48 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Wolves since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
