Baseball Recap: Columbus Takes a Loss

Monday just wasn't the day for Columbus's offense. They lost 7-0 to the Troup County Tigers on Monday. Having soared to a lofty 16 runs in the game before, the Blue Devils' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Columbus saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Maddox Anderson, who went 2-for-3 with one double.

Columbus' loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 13-11. As for Troup County, the win was the ninth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 15-6.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Columbus will take on Glenwood at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Troup County, they will square off against Upson-Lee at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
