Heritage took care of business in their home opener (and then some) on Tuesday. Everything went their way against the Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe Warriors as they made off with a 12-2 victory. The win was familiar territory for the Generals, who have now won six matchups in a row dating back to last season.
Bailee Hollis was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she pitched 3.1 innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits. Hollis was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs and one RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in August of 2024.
In other batting news, Collins Fletcher was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI, one run, and one double. Another player making a difference was Paisley Collins, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI and one double.
Heritage was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .455. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .304 or higher in six consecutive games dating back to last season.
Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.
Looking ahead, Heritage will head out to face off against Calhoun at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe, they will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against Northwest Whitfield at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
