Basketball Recap: Williams Comes Up Short

Williams was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 28th straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 46-20 to the Biggs Wolverines. While losing is never fun, the Yellowjackets can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 1353rd, while the Wolverines are ranked 444th).

Despite the loss, Williams still got an impressive performance from Lupita Zuniga, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 12 boards. That's the most rebounds Zuniga has posted since back in January of 2024.

Williams' defeat dropped their record down to 0-16. As for Biggs, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 16-3 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Williams has already played their next match (against Portola), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Biggs and Princeton will face off at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday without much rest having both just played. Princeton has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the game with three straight losses, while Biggs will come in with four straight victories.
