Softball Recap: Piedmont Wins Going Away Against Union

Piedmont owes their pitching crew a big pat on the back after their performance on Thursday. They put the hurt on the Union Redhawks with a sharp 9-0 win. Considering the Wildcats have won four contests by more than seven runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Piedmont has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-2 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for Union, they are on a six-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.

Coming up, Piedmont will be playing at home against Edmond North at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Union, they will venture away from home to face off against Owasso at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
