Baseball Recap: Elbert County Extends Home Winning Streak to Six

Elbert County proved they can win big last Tuesday (they won by eight) and on Monday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged the Clarke Central Gladiators out 5-3. For the Blue Devils, this counts as revenge for the 5-4 victory the Gladiators walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2024.

Haven Adams looked comfortable as he kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits over four innings pitched.

On the hitting side, Elbert County saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Sam Amabile, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base. Cheyvis McClendon was another, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one RBI.

Elbert County pushed their record up to 2-0 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Elbert County will head out to face off against Fannin County at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Clarke Central, they will take on Discovery at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
