Basketball Game Preview: Marshall Barristers vs. Franklin Panthers

Marshall and Franklin are an even 5-5 against one another since February of 2020, but not for long. The Marshall Barristers will be playing in front of their home fans against the Franklin Panthers at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Marshall is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They had just enough and edged Marymount out 51-48. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Barristers have posted since December 30, 2024.

Meanwhile, Franklin had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 23.5 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They walked away with a 38-29 win over the Mules.

Franklin's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-6. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 24.3 points per game. As for Marshall, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 10-8 record this season.
