Preview: Palm Springs Indians vs. Upland Highlanders/Scots

Having just played yesterday, the Palm Springs Indians will jump right back in to play the Upland Highlanders/Scots at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

On Wednesday, Palm Springs suffered a tough 50-24 loss at the hands of Paloma Valley. Palm Springs was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 32-8.

Despite the loss, Palm Springs got a solid performance out of Eiresslee Wells, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 15 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Naomi Bote, who scored three points along with five rebounds.

Meanwhile, Upland's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their third straight loss. They had to suffer through a rough 63-26 loss at the hands of King. While losing is never fun, Upland can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 714th, while King is ranked 100th).

This is the second loss in a row for Palm Springs and nudges their season record down to 6-9. As for Upland, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-8 record this season.

Palm Springs and Upland were neck-and-neck in their previous meeting back in December of 2014, but Palm Springs came up empty-handed after a 51-50 defeat. Can Palm Springs avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
