Soccer Game Preview: Olympian vs. Mater Dei Catholic

The Olympian Eagles will challenge the Mater Dei Catholic Crusaders at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Olympian's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for three straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Thursday just wasn't the day for Olympian's offense. They fell just short of Otay Ranch by a score of 1-0 on Thursday.

Meanwhile, Mater Dei Catholic's game on Friday was close up to the half, which is when they kicked things up a notch. They put the hurt on Hilltop with a sharp 4-1 victory. Considering the Crusaders have won three contests by more than two goals this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Mater Dei Catholic is also on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 6-3-1 record this season. As for Olympian, their loss dropped their record down to 5-7-1.

Olympian came up short against Mater Dei Catholic in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, falling 4-2. Can Olympian avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
