Preview: York County Tech Spartans vs. Hanover Nighthawks
York County Tech is 1-6 against Hanover since January of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The York County Tech Spartans will head out on the road to square off against the Hanover Nighthawks at 6:00 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.
York County Tech suffered their biggest loss since December 22, 2023 on Saturday. Their tough 69-47 defeat to Millersburg might stick with them for a while. While losing is never fun, York County Tech can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 550th, while Millersburg is ranked 201st).
Despite the defeat, York County Tech had strong showings from Le'Icessess Harrison, who scored 16 points along with three steals, and Anna Foster, who scored 17 points. That was a full 34% of York County Tech's points, marking the fifth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Meanwhile, this season hasn't been kind to Hanover, who are still winless after their fifth contest. They were dealt a 58-21 loss at the hands of Delone Catholic on Friday.
York County Tech's loss was their third straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 5-11. As for Hanover, their loss dropped their record down to 0-5.
York County Tech beat Hanover 43-36 in their previous meeting back in December of 2023. The rematch might be a little tougher for York County Tech since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
