Recap: Escondido Charter White Tigers vs. Tri-City Christian Eagles
The Escondido Charter White Tigers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six contests by 20 points or more this season. They simply couldn't be stopped on Tuesday as they easily beat Tri-City Christian 62-32 at home. The win was some much needed relief for Escondido Charter as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak.
It was another big night for Kami Gillis, who scored 22 points along with seven steals and six rebounds. She set a new season high mark in assists with five. The team also got some help courtesy of Harper Mowrey, who scored six points along with six rebounds and four steals.
Katie Busch and Talia Anthony certainly did their best on Tuesday to try and avoid the loss. Busch scored 13 points along with six rebounds and five steals, while Anthony scored 11 points along with seven rebounds. The game was Anthony's 13th in a row with at least ten points.
Tri-City Christian struggled to work together and finished the game with only three assists. That's the fewest assists they've managed all season.
Escondido Charter's victory bumped their record up to 6-10. As for Tri-City Christian, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 9-4.
Escondido Charter will head out on the road to face off against Maranatha Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Tri-City Christian, they will be playing at home against Orange Glen at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
