Basketball Recap: Valley View Eagles vs. Heritage Patriots
Valley View was the 51-26 winner over Heritage when they last played one another back in February of 2016, but their luck changed this time around. The Valley View Eagles had to suffer through a 61-34 loss at the hands of the Heritage Patriots. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 334th, while the Patriots are ranked 157th).

Valley View lost on Tuesday despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Mason Long, who posted 17 points. The match was Long's ninth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jada Booten, who earned four points along with 16 rebounds and four steals.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Heritage to victory, but perhaps none more so than Sierra Maxwell, who almost dropped a triple-double on 14 points, nine boards, and ten assists. Reg'Inae Hardin was another key player, going 5 of 8 en route to 12 points in addition to five rebounds and three steals.
Valley View's loss dropped their record down to 10-9. As for Heritage, their win was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-4.
Valley View has already played their next game, a 73-34 defeat against Rancho Christian on the 9th. As for Heritage, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 69-29 loss against Moreno Valley on the 9th.
