Taft has gone 8-2 against Chatsworth recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Taft Toreadors will square off against the Chatsworth Chancellors at 4:00 p.m. Both have had a bumpy ride up to this point with seven consecutive losses for Taft and three for Chatsworth.

Taft is headed into the matchup out to prove that what happened against Birmingham on Wednesday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Taft was outmatched by Birmingham and fell 70-4. The Toreadors were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 46-1.

Meanwhile, Chatsworth had to suffer through a 78-35 loss at the hands of El Camino Real. While losing is never fun, the Chancellors can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 574th, while the Royals are ranked 183rd).

Taft's defeat dropped their record down to 4-13. As for Chatsworth, their loss dropped their record down to 6-13.

Taft lost to Chatsworth on the road by a decisive 46-31 margin in their previous matchup back in January of 2024. Can Taft avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
