Softball Recap: Lincoln Comes Up Short

Lincoln extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to 14 on Wednesday, dropping them down to 0-13. They came up short against the Overland Trailblazers, falling 15-3. If the Lancers were looking for revenge after losing 20-7 to the Trailblazers when the teams met back in October of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

As for Overland, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-7. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven games by six runs or more this season.

For Overland's part, Michaela Halton was excellent, firing off two home runs, four runs, and four RBI while going 4-for-4. That's the most hits Halton has posted since back in September. The team also got some help courtesy of Malia Relford, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.

While Lincoln had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
