Baseball Recap: Lakeside Triumphs

Lakeside won the last time they faced Decatur and things went their way on Thursday too. The Vikings had just enough and edged out the Bulldogs 6-4. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Vikings.

Anderson Easom tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run over five innings pitched.

On the hitting side, Grant Jackson was incredible, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. He has become a key player for Lakeside: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 8-9-1 otherwise. Joshua Mosley also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Lakeside was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .375. They are a perfect 9-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Lakeside's record is now 17-9-1. As for Decatur, their defeat ended a six-game streak of away wins and brought them to 13-15.

As of now, neither Lakeside nor the Bulldogs have any future games scheduled.
