Soccer Game Preview: Jasper County vs. Lamar County

Jasper County hasn't had much luck against Lamar County recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Jasper County Hurricanes will head out on the road to challenge the Lamar County Trojans at 7:30 p.m. Jasper County is coming into the contest hot, having won their last four games.

Jasper County will bounce into Friday's match after beating Social Circle, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. Jasper County narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Social Circle 1-0.

Meanwhile, Lamar County fought the good fight in their overtime game against Putnam County on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the War Eagles by a score of 3-2. The Trojans' loss signaled the end of their six-game winning streak.

Jasper County's victory bumped their record up to 8-3. As for Lamar County, their defeat was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 6-1 and their overall record down to 6-4.

Jasper County suffered a grim 3-0 defeat to Lamar County in their previous matchup two weeks ago. Can Jasper County avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
