Softball Recap: Avery Hurst Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Brookwood

Thomasville barely beat Brookwood the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Bulldogs' pitcher stepped up to hand the Warriors a 16-0 shutout on Wednesday. The Bulldogs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 13 matchups by eight runs or more this season.

Avery Hurst was a standout: she went a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, two doubles, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Fallyn McDougald, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.

Thomasville's win bumped their record up to 19-10. As for Brookwood, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost 13 of their last 14 games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-15 record this season.

Thomasville will venture away from home to take on Thomas County Central at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Brookwood does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
