Volleyball Game Preview: Aquinas Monarchs vs. Shelby-Rising City Huskies

The Aquinas Monarchs will take on the Shelby-Rising City Huskies on Thursday. Aquinas has now lost 12 straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since September 25.

On Saturday, Aquinas came up short against St. Cecilia and fell 2-0.

Meanwhile, Shelby-Rising City hadn't done well against Meridian recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Huskies skirted past the Mustangs 2-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Huskies have posted against the Mustangs since October 9, 2018.

Shelby-Rising City had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next two. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 17-25, 25-18, 25-18.

Aquinas' defeat dropped their record down to 3-23. As for Shelby-Rising City, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-8 record this season.
