Recap: Slippery Rock Rockets vs. Sharon Tigers

The Slippery Rock Rockets were the 44-30 winner over the Sharon Tigers when they last played one another back in February of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Slippery Rock fell to Sharon 48-43.

Brielle Jordan and CJ Sabo certainly did their best on Monday to try and avoid the loss. Jordan scored 12 points along with five rebounds and three steals, while Sabo scored 18 points along with five rebounds and three steals. Sabo continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last four games she's played.

Slippery Rock bumped their record down to 4-7 with that loss, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 29.6 points per game. As for Sharon, their win ended a four-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 5-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Slippery Rock will face off against Sharpsville at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Pennsylvania (Sharpsville is ranked 492nd, while Slippery Rock is ranked 506th). Sharon's road trip will continue as they head out to face Wilmington at 7:00 p.m. on January 11th.
