Benilde-St. Margaret proved they can win big last Friday (they won by 42) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 19-17 win over the Jefferson Jaguars. The victory continues a trend for the Red Knights in their matchups with the Jaguars: they've now won five in a row.

Despite the loss, Jefferson still got an impressive performance from Abram Bruggeman, who rushed for 156 yards and a pair of scores.

Benilde-St. Margaret's win bumped their record up to 5-2. As for Jefferson, their loss dropped their record down to 2-5.

Coming up, Benilde-St. Margaret's will venture away from home to square off against Marshall at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Tigers' defense has only allowed 6.4 points per game this season, so the Red Knights' offense will have their work cut out for them.
