Softball Recap: Dawson County Has No Trouble Against Greater Atlanta Christian

For some reason, the away team has come away with the win the last three times Dawson County and Greater Atlanta Christian have met, but the home crowd finally got their W on Tuesday. The Tigers put the hurt on the Spartans with a sharp 11-2 victory. Considering the Tigers have won six matches by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Dawson County got a great performance from Madison Dudney as she struck out seven batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits.

At the plate, Bryce Greenwood was excellent, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Addi Prewitt, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with three runs.

Dawson County hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five batters in seven consecutive games.

Dawson County's win bumped their record up to 9-4. As for Greater Atlanta Christian, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-5.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Dawson County will face off against North Hall at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Greater Atlanta Christian, they will venture away from home to take on Meadowcreek at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Mustangs have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 17.25 runs per game on average), something the Spartans will no doubt try to take advantage of.
