Basketball Recap: Mission Hills Piles Up the Points Against Cathedral Catholic

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Mission Hills had no problem doing just that on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Cathedral Catholic Dons 70-34. The Grizzlies have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 13 matches by 21 points or more this season.

Bay Cordova continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, almost dropping a double-double with 22 points and nine rebounds. Her evening made it seven games in a row in which she has scored at least 17 points. Another player making a difference was Izzy Medina, who posted 14 points in addition to five boards and four steals.

Mission Hills smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 21 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've managed all season.

Mission Hills is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten games. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-8 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 80.6 points over those games. This is the second loss in a row for Cathedral Catholic and nudges their season record down to 19-9.

Coming up, Mission Hills will take on La Jolla Country Day at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. La Jolla Country Day is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 56.3 points per game this season. Cathedral Catholic does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
